张彤现任香港大学土木工程系教授,2017年4月起任南方科技大学环境科学与工程学院长期访问杰出教授,“南方科技大学抗性基因和抗生素环境污染防控研究中心”主任兼首席科学家。主要研究方向为污水生物处理和环境微生物,特别是生物脱氮除磷、新兴污染物的生物降解、污水中抗生素抗性基因及致病菌检测等。 作为项目负责人,获得香港研究资助局的8项资助,以及2项自然科学基金,3项香港环境保育基金和2项香港创新科技基金的资助。与他人合作的项目有15项,包括美国NSF国际研究与教育合作基金,斯坦福大学Bio-X种子基金,瑞士国家研究计划等。在The ISME Journal,Environmental Science & Technology,Water Research,Bioinformatics 等学术期刊上发表相关学术论文200篇,其中ESI高被引论文11篇,H指数54 (Google Scholar),总引用9300次(Google Scholar)。获得中国和美国专利各一项,合著书籍一部。2011到2014年受聘兼任“华大基因”环境微生物和环境生物技术的特邀顾问,2013到2016年受聘兼任南京大学讲座教授。
